Fundamental Conflict Webinar-February 12, 2008

Join the WGSSE for a Webinar on February 12, 2008 beginning at 2 PM Eastern Time entitled
The Fundamental Conflict Between Economic Growth and Wildlife Conservation. This web-seminar is focused on outlining major causes and consequences of the conflict between economic growth and wildlife conservation, followed by a panel discussion. Please join us as we examine the scientific principals and studies that relate the human economy to wildlife conservation.

This webinar will be be led by Falk Huettemann. Over the last 15 years Falk’s research was able to link computing with biology for addressing larger questions about the relation between the human economy and wildlife.

His interest lies also in efficient field data collection and monitoring schemes for remote regions, so that the obtained information can be assessed and shared quickly online and for free making best sustainable decisions. His recent research deals with avian influenza sampling, and it also
promotes several new digital field data sets from the Russian Far East, Central America and the entire Pacific Rim.

Name update...again
